We are looking for an Operations Director to join our team in City North, Ireland.
Reporting to the business General Manager, this role is responsible for all packaging, warehousing, and planning functions. The role will be required to provide effective cross-functional collaboration with EHS, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Procurement, Engineering/Maintenance, NPI/ Commercial Project Management, as well as matrix support functions across sister networks and sites. The role is expected to be a leader across the business segments and delegate for the General Manager as required.
This role’s primary area of responsibility will be to lead operational elements of the business but will also be responsible for delivering key strategic initiatives for the site including core functions in a planned facility expansion, efficiency improvements, long term capacity analysis and process improvements that lead to improved output in performance and sustainability.
The person in this role is a core member of the Site Leadership Team and responsible for ensuring that the site delivers on its production plan and KPI’s.
Responsibilities:
  • The primary goal of the position is to safely deliver best in class operational performance focused on delivering leading quality metrics, 100% on-time delivery, and year on year productivity improvements to ensure efficient management of costs and capital investments.
  • Recruiting, retaining, and developing a team to deliver on these goals
  • Ensure safety is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Deliver the operational budget, goals and strategic activity objectives as agreed with the General Manager.
  • Develop and deliver metrics for areas of responsibility in the categories of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People.
  • Maximize performance by implementing continuous improvements tools and programs. Leverage operational excellence and metrics to control and improve operational performance.
  • Support implementation of capital projects within budgets and timelines
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of key decisions, changes, risks, and progress to major project and operational milestones.
  • Leverage operational excellence and metrics to control and improve operational performance.
  • Actively manage plant capacity.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant operational experience in a pharmaceutical, medical device, or similar regulated environment. Ideally have demonstrated leadership of manufacturing/ operational and support functions in their experience.
  • Pragmatic leadership approach with demonstrated ability to get the best out of people.
  • Good, balanced, strong general business sense.
  • Strong CI experience. Ability to coach and mentor CI tools and methods to own team and across the business.
  • Ideally has experience in a customer focussed business.
  • Excellent people management, influencing and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills.
  • Experience in an expanding business would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience managing budgets and overseeing financial controls.
