2022 is going to be a big year for us. This is an exciting time to join the site as we go through this rapid expansion and we’re now on the lookout for an outstanding Operations Manager to lead our site into the future.
About the role
The Operations Manager manages and provides effective leadership to direct reports (Team Managers/Operations Leads) to deliver the agreed key performance indicators for the contract/customer whilst maintaining safe and positive working environment that delivers customer service excellence as a matter of routine.
In this role you are accountable for:
People:
To attend and lead daily/weekly/monthly operational meetings to ensure areas of risk or operational failure are identified, and contingency actions and problems are resolved in sufficient time to protect service.
To set realistic and stretching targets and goals for your direct reports by using informal and formal processes including the Company appraisal process.
To have an awareness of the site’s HR plan and objectives and share these with the shift leadership team. To participate and encourage colleague engagement initiatives and involvement.
In conjunction with site HR, responsible for chairing disciplinary hearings (which are deemed to be gross misconduct) and have the potential to lead to an individual’s contract of employment being terminated.
To ensure all employees and agencies have completed all mandatory H&S and skills training.
Safety:
To demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Clipper’s Health & Safety and continuous improvement frameworks which are two of the Team Clipper pillars for success.
To be aware of the frequency, number and type of accidents occurring within your area of responsibility and across the site.
To ensure adherence to, and management of a safety-first approach to work, ensuring that your reports adhere to this approach.
To organise and follow up on accidents and H&S related incidents that occur and discuss with the onsite H&S representative and Training Advisor to take steps to prevent repeat accidents taking place.
Finance & Reporting:
To understand the operational elements of the site’s budget to ensure that operational costs are controlled, and that waste of time, money and unnecessary costs are minimised.
To liaise closely with Planning Manager to ensure that sufficient labour has been scheduled and planned to meet volumes.
To review and take appropriate actions from a range of operational and systemic reports that report on a variety of activities that aide with the planning process.
Operations:
Review operational plans for all known or anticipated events on a weekly, monthly, or seasonal basis that react to and protect service levels.
Undertake regular reviews that look at factors that affect cost per unit.
Ensure that all Team Managers/Operations Leads are fully aware of the daily and weekly targets and that are processes are developed and implemented in all areas of the site to monitor actual performance and monitor individual and team performance.
Regularly monitor departmental performance against plans and if necessary, take corrective action where performance or productivity is not meeting expectation.
To help identify areas for improvement that result in savings in time or cost.
To understand stock shrinkage because of theft and working with the Stock Manager and security to review ways to reduce loss.
Customer:
Attend formal and informal meetings and build effective relationships with customer representatives to justify variations from the P&L.
Present achievements or proposals that may result in improvement.
Take proactive steps to understand significant milestones and activities that LSS are involved in.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Budgetary awareness/P&L management
Ability to interrogate WMS, e.g. JDA
Analytical thinker with an ability to read and understand a broad range of MI
Industry awareness including returns management
A proven leader with excellent attention to detail and someone who can plan and prioritise
Degree or diploma in logistics would be a distinct advantage
Salary is Competitive

Salary: €50,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
