Description
The Kentucky Department of Parks is seeking an experienced and motivated team leader with a passion for delivering exceptional guest service as our newest Chef II at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park. The Resort has 24 lodge rooms, 13 cottages, campground, mini golf, hiking trails, and excellent recreational opportunities.
The Resort Park situated in Christian County is one of the premier lodging and dining facilities in Kentucky. You will be the first individual our guests will talk to as they are planning their vacation with us. In addition, you will work with the kitchen team and other park staff in providing exceptional guest services to the thousands of guests who visit this park throughout the year. As a Chef II, you will be a key member of our team in the kitchen and oversee providing excellent customer service delivery to every visitor.

As a Chef II, you will be a key member of our team in the kitchen and oversee providing excellent customer service delivery to every visitor.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plans, trains, and supervises kitchen personnel
- Plans, participates, implements, and manages food product consistency
- Menu development
- Inventory, purchasing, and budget reporting
- Enforces departmental rules, regulations, and policies
- Experience with front line cooking.
- Experience cooking for buffets.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent grooming standards.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts/hours based on guest needs.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
- Ability to work on your own or in teams.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. Two years of the required experience must include management or supervision in a large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: One year of culinary training will substitute for one year of the food preparation experience.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
