Expand your skill-set at a challenging position at a well-known company as a Payroll Clerk. Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join the dynamic team at one of our clients in the Hospitality industry! In this position, you will be expected to support the Payroll department through a number of duties including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. A candidate should be able to effectively communicate with both internal team members and outside customers as part of this dynamic, fast-growing team. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Orlando, Florida area and is a long-term contract / temporary employment role.What you get to do every day
- Build a system of administering and distributing reports
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Fill in data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Configure custom reports
- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
- Enthusiasm when it comes to learning new systems and ideas
- Payroll software experience suggested
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Deep understanding of payroll for over 500 employees
- Multi-state payroll experience
- PeopleSoft HRIS experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Garnishments payroll experience desired
- 1+ years of previous payroll experience
