Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Vine Clinic

The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing, is accepting applications for a Part-Time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse position that supports the College of Nursing’s school-based nurse-managed health center serving children in Knox County Schools located at Vine School Health Center. This position will coordinate nursing care activities in the clinic. This include screening children, administering vaccines, scheduling ordering and recycling supplies, assist in revising policies and procedures, orienting and supervising BSN nursing students, and maintaining equipment.

The clinic’s Registered Nurse also assists the Clinic Director in maintaining requested data and with special projects upon request. Registered nurse will serve as the communicator of clinical information between nurse practitioners and between the nurse practitioners and patients. The registered nurse will maintain and improve clinical practices to ensure compliance with national standards of care for children. The registered nurse will perform at the top of his/her training and education. This position would be expected to work one day a week and then as needed to support RN’s in the clinic.

The following minimum requirements are necessary to be considered for the position:

Job Skills:

• Knowledge of nursing care functioning in a APRN role

• Competent with technology and EHR

• DEA number
• BLS certified

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize

• Good communication skills both written and orally

• Able to work well in a team environment

Preferred Job Skills

• Experience in outpatient clinical settings

• Experience in academic settings

• Ability to effectively teach students

Education: Master’s in Nursing & Nationally Certified as a PNP

Experience: 2 years of experience as an advanced practice nurse caring for children
