Summary:

Provides assistance to the Physical Therapist by performing the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Provides assistance to Physical Therapist including assisting, instructing, and scheduling patients.

2) Assists patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques including exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, activities of daily living, and isokinetic program.

3) Assists Physical Therapists in performing range of motion and stretching exercises with patients.

4) Assists Physical Therapist with documenting and completing notes following patient appointments.

5) Completes appropriate forms and home treatment instructions for patients as needed.

6) Assists patients with understanding prescribed health care treatments.

7) Sets up exercise equipment in treatment rooms as needed by pushing, wheeling or carrying equipment.

8) Ensures billing forms are accurate and complete prior to submission to billing department.

9) Escorts patients to appropriate treatment areas.

10) Maintains proper condition and cleanliness of treatment rooms, sterilizes instruments and equipment following each patient visit and ensures treatment rooms are sufficiently stocked at all times with towels and related supplies.

11) Monitors inventory of supplies, informs management of supply shortages, examines incoming supply orders, and stores in appropriate area.

12) Provides effective communication to Physicians as required.

13) Attends workshops and seminars relative to physical therapy.

Qualifications:

AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Physical Therapy Assistance License.8 hour day shifts Mon - Fri.
