An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Planning Specialist within the Supply Chain Department in our Biotech Dublin site. This is a key role for the successful delivery of planning requirements at our new strategic Biotech site. Our Supply Chain team brings our holistic planning perspectives into the overall strategic and tactical decision-making processes. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will work with the Supply Chain Team to support the company’s endeavours. You will work with people at all levels of the organization to develop, improve, and manage key deliverables.

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Liaise internally with production plan stakeholders – Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Warehouse, Purchasing, QA, and QC to understand near and long-term production planning requirements and constraints for both Commercial Batches and New Material Introductions.
  • Prepare rolling short-term level production schedule and communicate the schedule to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and assess changes to the master-schedule for impacts to materials planning
  • Forecast materials demand and support purchase order placement.
  • Liaise with QC to ensure material release as required for the production plan.
  • Prepare and release process orders in a timely manner to enable execution of the production plan.
  • Manage inventory to optimise material usage and to minimise waste and obsolescence.
  • Support MRP Implementation Project onsite.
  • Summarises Supply/Demand information and participates in the Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Contribute to planning systems improvement projects.
  • Write or contribute to SOPs and work instructions for the planning function.
  • Contributes to or manages relevant change controls and deviations involving the Masterdata and Planning functions.
  • Ensures ethical and financial compliance when liaising with customers and suppliers.


What skills you will need:

  • Supply Chain degree or technical degree with planning ability/experience is preferred.
  • Relevant experience with certification such as APICs CPIM/CSCP will also be considered.
  • Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma is beneficial.

  • Experience in planning and scheduling production operations is required, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • SAP experience (or equivalent ERP system) is required. Experience of new SAP implementation and Rapid Response is beneficial.
  • Experience in S&OP and demand management is beneficial.
  • Inventory Management experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to work with external and internal stakeholders across multiple functions and levels is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
