Maintenance Technician II

Maintenance Department

Full time: 80 hours per pay period. Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Call Rotation.

• High school graduate.
• Trade or technical school training preferred.
• Experience in industrial basic electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and a valid driver license.
• Prior painting work experience preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in plant operations/maintenance environment.

Purpose/Position Summary:

Perform work involving the skills maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; welding; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Monitor equipment and record readings. Observe the operation of mechanical devices and determine problems and corrective action necessary. Document work performed and prepare reports as required. Maintain boiler room and HVAC equipment, provide preventive maintenance and ensure supplies needed are on hand by reporting needs to Department Supervisor. Mandatory participation in rotation of on-call maintenance coverage for the Hospital. Must be available to respond to calls or pages by being on location within 30 minutes of request while on call. Maintains grounds. Responsible to respond to emergency alarms or perform duties as directed by Department Managers. Act as back-up driver for Transportation Department as needed.
