Chill is currently on the lookout for a Pricing Analyst to join our Team. Reporting to the Director of Product & Partnerships, the Pricing Analyst will be part of the team responsible for delivering discounting strategies that support customer conversion, retention and revenue objectives within the company policy framework.
This role will also require the candidate to engage with the business and/or external customers to clarify business requirements and design appropriate analytics. The role is full-time and based in Co Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver discounting strategies that ensure the company maintains its competitive position in the motor and home insurance markets.
  • Explain identifiable trends and identify unobserved trends and articulate actionable insights.
  • Delivery of key cross-functional analytical activities which support the trading objectives, including customer segmentation and propensity modelling.
  • Review discounting practices and issue recommendations.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of discounting strategy and forecasting.
  • Continue to develop and design discounting methodologies, tools, and assumptions.
  • Leverage value-based methods and market research to formulate discounting strategies.
  • Analyse competitor pricing and incorporate in the discounting strategies where appropriate.
  • Calculate customer lifetime value (LTV) and incorporate this into the discounting strategies.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a flexible discounting models with numerous scenarios.
  • Analyse sales trends and drivers of win/loss rates, sales team performance and churn/renewal rates.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in an actuarial, data science, statistical or mathematical subject area.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant pricing and/or analytics experience.
  • Experience of personal lines insurance products are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong data management, analytical and reporting skills – experience of using these in a high data volume environment.
  • Experience in Azure, Tableau and VBA desirable.
  • Experience of creating complex models to forecast the impact of pricing changes would be a distinct advantage.

Skills

  • Experience with pricing models, multi-variate analysis, conversion/retention optimization, customer segmentation models.
  • Highly numerate and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to deliver complex ideas and outputs to Director level decision makers.
  • Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work to agreed deadlines often at short notice.
  • Strong programming ability would be preferable in languages, such as SQL/R/VBA.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (remotely and in-person) with internal customers from all levels of the company.
  • Ability to interpret, review, and translate data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Good organisational skills are necessary, as is the ability to use own initiative and collaborate well within a team.
  • Excellent presentation skills – experience with PowerPoint is important.
