Job Posting: Product Engineer


The Product Engineer will provide expertise and support to the foundry operations and other areas as needed, and will coordinate between Sales, Quality, Production, and customers to meet the customer’s requirements.

You will do this by:

  • Modifying finished part designs for the casting process
  • Designing dies to manufacture castings
  • Maintaining die inventory and managing die refurbishment
  • Manage quotation process for cast product
  • Identify cost reduction, efficiency, and quality improvement opportunities
  • Provide solutions to technical issues
  • Initiate work instructions & procedures
  • Improve existing processes and tooling
  • Support established documentation, communication, and escalation protocols
  • Establish solutions to safety near misses

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in an engineering or technical field, industrial, manufacturing, or materials science engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Proficient in reading and understanding part drawings with GD&T
  • Open-minded, flexible, and able to adapt and accept new ideas quickly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to root cause technical issues
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with co-workers at all levels in numerous functions
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in development of operational and troubleshooting documentation.


Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with Epicor ERP
  • Experience with in-process monitoring and controls
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Travel Required:

  • Occasional travel to other business units

Physical | Visual Demands:

  • Weight amount that would need to be lifted, pushed, or pulled: Up to 50 pounds
  • Sit, Stand, Walk, Talk/Hear, Use Hands,
  • Majority of the business day is in a standard manufacturing environment


Work Environment:

  • Quiet (Examples: library, private office)
  • Moderate (Examples: business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic)
  • Loud (Examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)
