Job Description:
The Belonging, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (BaJEDI) Program Manager will coordinate efforts to strengthen and institutionalize the values of Aims Community College. The position will work with stakeholders across the institution to help identify and develop an effective strategy to create a culture for belonging, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BaJEDI). As a program manager, this position must be able to effectively communicate the purpose, importance, and impact of this work to our institution and community. Reporting to the Executive Vice President in the Office of the President, the program manager will actively engage students and employees to further initiatives, system, and infrastructure that support BaJEDI. A significant responsibility of this position will be to help develop, promote, deliver, and assess belonging, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion programs, workshops, trainings, as well as facilitated discussions that promote these critical values. This position is the standing co-chair of the Council for Equity and Inclusion and collaborates and partners with departments college-wide in an effort to promote a culture of belonging, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion across all campuses.
Programming Development, Implementation, Assessment, Marketing & Communication:
  • Oversee BaJEDI resources Aims has in place and assist in the analysis of those resources.
  • Develop, implement, guide, and assess a sustainable plan for developing and facilitating training and ongoing professional development for all levels of college employees to build knowledge and skills in various aspects of belonging, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Direct, facilitate and collaborate with the college stakeholders to develop and implement programs.
  • Help identify, create, and implement a systemic institutional infrastructure to support BaJEDI initiatives.
  • Partner with internal and external constituencies to ensure programming supports the college’s values and strategic goals.
  • Market and promote BaJEDI efforts across and throughout the college and community.
  • Provide instruction and facilitation for training initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain internal reporting systems to effectively measure college BaJEDI initiatives.
  • Assess and monitor program effectiveness for continuous improvement.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives through
  • analysis of data and feedback.
  • Maintain expertise/currency in BaJEDI knowledge through professional development and/or scholarly activities.
Collaboration, Advocacy, & Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate and partner with the divisions, departments, and committees throughout the college to effectively promote BaJEDI programming and events.
  • Partner with other departments to co-sponsor events and programs.
  • Establish and sustain relationships of trust and goodwill with staff, students, and administrators at the college.
  • Develop and cultivate networks and relationships with community organizations that could provide external connections and supports for Aims employees related to cultural awareness and competency development. Build connections with community agencies and members to identify and leverage related resources, to advance and enhance the BaJEDI experience.
  • Conduct focus groups and solicit feedback from students and employees in order to assess BaJEDI programming and support services.
  • Assess and evaluate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Serve on college-wide committees in an effort to support and promote BaJEDI practices at Aims.
  • Represent the college at various campus events.
Budget:
  • Manage the department budget, including budget proposals, explaining expenses, and monitoring reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a degree specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion, or another related degree.
  • Plus two (2) years of experience in developing, implementing, and assessing aspects of belonging, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion programs, events, activities, or services or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • This position requires the use of a company vehicle and/or personal vehicle for business travel. The selected candidate must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform in a professional manner demonstrate good customer services skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources or a degree specializing in Degree diversity, equity, and inclusion, or another related degree.
  • Four (4) years progressively responsible related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years’ work experience in a community college setting.
  • Two (2) years’ demonstrated work experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing multicultural activities and/or multicultural center management on a college campus.

Minimum Payment Amount:
$53,549.00
Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
