Social and Health Program Consultant 4 (temporary)

We’re looking to hire a temporary Regional Academy Facilitator / Community First Choice Program Specialist at the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

You can work in either Seattle or Everett, with some teleworking, requiring 2-3 weeks per month in-office to support Academy students. You'd provide in-person training, in-person meetings, and office coverage.

This appointment is anticipated to last 12 months.

You’ll manage the process for the Community First Choice program, identify the need for training, and develop and provide regional consultation, training, and support for staff.

You'll support the academy as a training proctor to provide in-person support within our regional field offices.

Some of what you’ll do

• 
  Provide support to new case managers who are attending the academy
• Be the expert on the regional Community First Choice Program for staff
• Review requests for emergency and extended use of personal care funding
• Ensure personal care assessments are being administered appropriately
• Identify trends and patterns of non-compliance, policy misinterpretation or application, and inconsistencies that can indicate regional training needs
• Develop, coordinate, and provide training that is targeted to address the needs identified in the ongoing monitoring process
• Conduct audits of Service Level Assessments
• Collaborate with program managers in the development of regional training
• Assist in the preparation for administrative hearings and provide expert technical testimony at hearings as requested
• Participate in administration task forces, committees, and workshops

We’re looking for a professional with
A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and 5 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
OR
A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and 4 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
OR
One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.
OR
Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.

Desired

• Expertise in the use of the CARE Tool and Quality Assurance
• Ability to develop, plan, coordinate, and provide staff training
• Knowledge of principles and practices of program planning management
• Strong written and oral communication skills

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
