Salary/Compensation Statement:
- Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $62,326 – $91,404.
- New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years’ relevant experience.
- Lane’s robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave.
- Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Required Education:
- Associates degree.
OR
- Three (3) + years of equivalent experience in a related field.
Required Experience:
- Database development experience, including structures and design concepts.
- Two (2) recent years of experience in software development or network/system administration or equivalent educational experience.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education
A Bachelor’s in computer science, computer engineering, programming, network administration, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing and working with containers (LXC, Docker).
- Experience developing and deploying systems and software to cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Java or similar programming language.
- Systems Administration experience in Linux/Unix/Solaris.
- Experience with a shell language (bash, ksh, zsh).
- Experience managing the software and hardware resources of a VM server stack (Xen/OracleVM Server, KVM, VMWare, HyperV).
- Experience with producing/consuming REST API endpoints.
- Experience with computer networking and firewall fundamentals.
- Basic network administration experience.
- Experience with SQL, including procedural language extension (e.g.: PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, T-SQL).
- Ellucian Banner ERP experience.
- Agile team experience.

Position Purpose:
This position exists to analyze, design and program software and systems in support of critical college services and operations.
Essential Functions:
- Create and maintain software used to integrate the Banner ERP system with third-party systems.
- Create, update, and maintain the application servers and database servers hosting the Banner ERP system, Banner Job Submission and associated services.
- Create, update, and maintain the Oracle VM Server infrastructure used to house our Oracle Database and WebLogic infrastructure.
- Research, design, and coordinate integrations that will further help efficiency and ease-of-access to LCC products and data across the college.
- Assist with network administration including firewall testing/troubleshooting.
- Software Provisioning.
- Configure and maintain servers (Unix, Windows and Windows Server editions) for Banner and other products.
- Check routinely run jobs for errors and/or exceptions, maintain email lists and server addresses where jobs are sending output (reports), files and/or emails.
- Automation expert, assists the team with automated file processing and manipulation, with a primary focus on getting files to/from third parties.
- Analyzing, designing, coding, testing, implementing, utilizing code version control.
- Writing SQL database packages and processes.
- Diagnoses and resolves application software problems.
- Participating in Agile scrum events, programming projects and weekly programmer meetings.
- Create and maintain IT documentation for various systems and processes.
- Designs, develops, tests and implements complex software systems and creates functional and design specifications for proposed software.
- Assist with various projects and tasks as requested.
Consultation & Support
- Participate in need and process analysis with functional teams in creating technical solutions to include workflows, reports, and data stores; provide consultation and support service in the development, integration, and evolution of Ellucian Banner as a self-service ERP.
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA sometimes HIPAA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
