Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of high-end custom commercial architectural millwork, construction remodel cabinetry, countertop projects and more for well known chain restaurants, schools and more. Key aspects include confirming scope of work, building and maintaining a critical path schedule, holding hand-off meetings, ordering all materials especially long lead and specialty items early, identifying and submitting change orders, coordinate installers, and exceeding customer expectations.

  • PAY: $46,000-$55,000, typical 40hr/wk if keeping up with workload/projects
  • HOURS: 7AM-3:30PM
  • Breaks: ½ Lunch, two 15 min breaks
  • Reports to the Sales Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver every job on-time
  • Oversees 20-30 projects at a time
  • Take field measurements if necessary
  • Source specialty materials/processes as required
  • Provide detailed product schedules with critical milestones
  • Coordinate between company, General Contractor and Architect
  • Expand supplier base to include subcontractors/installers
  • Attend subcontractor meetings as required and document necessary information
  • Request and coordinate samples for submittals in conjunction with engineering and production
  • Minimize and negotiate change orders
  • Ensure adherence contract specifications
  • Formulate requests for information (RFI) Communicate in a professional manner with all company management/employees
  • Occasional after hour phone calls from Contractors to answer questions

  • Able to have difficult conversations with customers
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and make calls
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision making capabilities
  • Proven listening skills and ability to be a team player
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbally & written) and interpersonal skills
  • Documented planning skills – experience developing and managing project plans, preparing timelines/critical path, and coordinating with production
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to maintain proficiency with current and changing technologies
  • Able to effectively communicate with Architects, Designers, General Contractors, Vendors and Subcontractors in a professional manner
  • Able to travel with short notice (usually day trips)
  • Experience taking field measurements
  • Experience formulating RFI’s
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance at all times
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Experience in high-end commercial architectural millwork
  • Able to drive projects to conclusion on time and on budget while maintaining the standard of quality required by the company

Nice to have:

Familiarity with project and scheduling technologies helpful
