Job Summary:
The Promotions Production Engineer works with WPR's engineering team to produce audio promotional materials for statewide and regional content, as well as events and Member Drives. Also works with radio automation to make sure all products are loaded correctly. The position reports to the Radio Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- 5% Researches and develops production strategy for one or more programs across broadcast and digital platforms
- 50% Produces, develops, and edits content that may include identifying topics, themes, guests, conducting pre-interviews and/or interviews, writing, and/or integrating content for multimedia platforms
- 20% Performs daily operational activities for live and pre-recorded content, and may direct the editorial and creative process of production activities
- 10% Collaborates with other content creators in pre- to post-production processes, prepares materials, and handles logistics for broadcast and/or digital publications
- 10% Maintains familiarity with studio equipment and/or applicable technology for production
- 5% May schedule and direct operational activities for content production, including live/recorded studio or field productions

Education:
Preferred
H.S. Diploma
No degree is required for this position. Any degree in audio engineering or a related field is preferred.
Qualifications:
Required:
Advanced knowledge of multitrack audio editing in Digital Audio Workstation of choice; Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Audition, Digital Performer, or similar
Experience completing Self-directed audio projects by a deadline
Proficiency of professional written and oral communication
Preferred:
Knowledge of audio industry loudness standards (lufs)
Familiar with sound and style of public broadcasting, podcasts, or media
Knowledge of broadcast radio automation: Wide Orbit, Zetta, or similar
Work Type:
Full or Part Time: 60% - 100%
This position is expected to be predominately remote. Travel to a Madison, Wisconsin office on the UW - Madison Campus may be required for occasional in-person meetings. If the selected candidate would prefer to work predominantly in-person, office space may be available.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.
Salary:
Minimum $50,500 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The expected salary range is $50,500 to $58,000. The actual salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
Additional Information:
Schedule and FTE will be determined at time of hire based on employee availability and employer need.
