About Fineco Asset Management DAC

Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘FAM’) is the Dublin based asset management subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). Fineco Bank is a leading European bank with a 20 year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start.

FAM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS Management Company and it currently has approximately €25 bn in assets under management. FAM is a competence centre specialised in the management of fund-of-funds and single strategy funds (both managed internally and also externally buy 19 of the world’s most renowned investment managers). In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally. FAM started with 5 employees and has grown rapidly over the past 3 years with a headcount currently sitting at 50 FTEs and growing quickly (half of our headcount was hired during the pandemic period).
With this rapid growth, we are looking to recruit a Python developer to join our IT Team. This role will work within the IT team, and will report into the Head of IT.

Role Duties:

• Be the lead solution developer in the IT department of an Asset Management company.
• Work with our Data Manager and DBA to code custom solutions for business needs.
• Take responsibility for implementing a common code base & package standardisation that be leveraged by others in the organisation
• Assist with design / Implementation of robust ETL solutions
• Develop desktop and server side applications.
• Work with custodians and third party data vendors (Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI).
• Become familiar with how our data is consumed internally, and how it is used on 3rd party systems.
• Research and design solutions for improving business efficiency.
• Requirements gathering, prioritising feature requests.
• Testing / Debugging.

Core Skills / Competencies:

• Good experience with investment industry / fund management, investment data or else an exceptional educational background
• Experience designing and building scalable solutions within a framework
• Python programming knowledge and experience
• Ability to work across multiple data sources (relational databases, file repositories, SQL language & querying
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Infrastructure & virtual machines
