Overview:
The Caregiver cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. The position requires patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the frail elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner.
- Distribute and administer medication to residents in a timely and courteous manner as prescribed by the physician.
- Administer breathing and skin treatment to residents according to physician’s prescription.
- Accurately record the administration of medication.
- Assess, monitor and document residents’ progress, symptoms and medication reactions to the Wellness Director/Nurse on shift.
- Reports changes in resident’s condition to the Wellness Director/Nurse on shift.
- Inform Director of Wellness/Nurse on shift of all refusals of medications.
- Perform and record vital signs, weights and finger stick blood sugar monitoring.
- Perform care staff duties as assigned when not passing medications.
- Other duties assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
