The Quality Technician position at Arnold Fastening Systems will work with the Quality Manager to support and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
Job Duties and Requirements:
- Support the organization’s QMS so that it conforms to customer, internal, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001:2015, and all regulatory/legal requirements.
- Ensure customer, employee and vendor satisfaction by collecting and analyzing feedback/surveys, participating in audits, leading corrective actions, and communicating concerns with urgency.
- Monitor processes to ensure all products meet the QMS requirements.
- Create and update work instructions/procedures to comply with the QMS.
- Perform inspections of daily production and sample/trial runs to assure all products meet QMS requirements.
- Support continuous improvements in the production process to reduce quality defects.
- Manage all gages including tracking, repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness, and assure all required calibrations are performed and up to date.
- Perform various testing including, but not limited to, tensile strength, hardness, torque, etc. to support the QMS.
- Manage the disposition of non-conforming parts and material per the QMS.
- Perform layered audits per the QMS.
- Track, report and recommend improvements for all quality costs.
- Support all activities associated with developing and submitting PPAPs.
- Support the preparation, implementation and execution of the EHS policy including recommending and supporting the implementation of improvements.
- Support Lean/5S activities throughout the production & quality areas.
- Train personnel as needed.
Experience, Education and Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Outstanding communication skills both written and oral
- ERP experience preferred
- QMS software experience preferred
- Working knowledge and utilization of AIAG core tools, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, & MSA
- Able to analyze problems, generate solutions and achieve results
- Ability to work with other employees from different departments/levels
- Experience with PPAP preferred
- Experience analyzing data and drawings
- Knowledge of mathematical concepts
- Excellent visual awareness
- Able to drive/operate a fork lift
- 1 – 3 years of previous quality experience in a manufacturing industry preferred
- 1 – 3 years QMS experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
