**Looking for WEEKEND role (Sat & Sun) with additional days during the Week (Mon-Fri) a must, both Part-Time and Full-Time available**
A Medical Record Specialist’s job is to procure selective medical records from the care providers’ central medical record repositories; such selective medical information may be utilized towards patient-specific needs, clinical verification and follow up.
Medical Records Specialists will organize and maintain health information in electronic systems. They check data for accuracy, assign codes for insurance reimbursement, record information and keep file folders and electronic databases up-to-date. Some of the data they manage includes patient information, medical histories, physician exams, test results, treatments and services provided. In addition to their clerical duties, records specialists often consult with health care professionals to make sure information is accurate. They must also follow best practices for security and patient confidentiality.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Retrieves medical records and/or documents from secure hospital portals
- Delivers quality Customer Service from initial request for service until completion of end product
- Follows appropriate secure methods for sending out medical records to providers
- Adheres to client protocols and jurisdictional regulations including, logging, processing and progress inquiries
- Verifies workflow functions to ensure tasks are being completed
- Contacts appropriate agencies or physicians for the purpose of verifying information
- Communicates immediately with the Medical Records Team Leader with regard to any major discrepancies within records
- Operates company software and equipment
- Enters data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information into system via keyboard
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with computer navigation
- Excellent communication skills-verbal and written
- Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task without compromising attention to detail
- Meets specific department metrics
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions while adhering to prescribed departmental routines
- Proficiency with imaging/scanning documents
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion as a general rule
- Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
- Interacts professionally with other employees as well as clients
- Has a clear and concise understanding, and adheres to, guidelines as they relate to HIPAA, Conflict of Interest, and Ethics
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $12.50 to $13.50 /hour

Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
