Regional Assessment Coordinator – MDS RN
This is a regional support position whose primary function is to manage the assessment/Medicaid/Medicare/Managed Care/UR/Matrix software process for our residents.
The organization’s goals of positive outcomes in quality, resident, employee, and corporate outcomes will be achieved through effective processes, monitoring, training, and implementation of systems that will lead to accurate and timely MDS submissions, utilization of Medicare nursing days when warranted, oversight of managed care residents, effective facility coordination through a well-run UR (utilization review committee) meeting, and utilization of our Matrix computer system.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a Registered Nurse
- Experience in education in accounting, finance, or business management is a plus.
- Will be computer literate.
- Mastery of Matrix software system.
- Will be able to demonstrate a proven record of success in the implementation of systems.
- Experience as an RN assessment coordinator is a plus.
- Five years of management experience in the long-term care industry.
- Experience as a Director of Nursing is a plus.
- Will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable in a classroom and mentoring environment.
- Effective in the ability to train personnel to improve outcomes.

Must be understanding and patient and have tact in dealing with others.
Must work within a set period to meet specific deadlines.
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Must have the ability to travel on a regular/routine basis within the region.
- This position has been identified as utilizing and entering, resident information into an Electronic Medical Health Record (EMHR). Requirements for this process include:
- Maintains HIPPA compliance with resident information at all times.
- Maintains security of facility information related to health care.
- Must not share or discuss their log-in and password with any non-authorized staff or outside facility party.
- Will not enter any information into the (EMHR) under another login or password.
- Must use understanding of significant consequences including termination for HIPPA/Password violations.
- Maintains system security with health information
- Does not share any health or facility information with unauthorized parties.
- Enters health information that is factual and accurate for the resident in the (EMHR).
- Reports any security/ Password/ Log-In concerns to authorized staff immediately.
- Must comply with (EMHR) usage restrictions.
- Communicates (EMHR) entry concerns to authorized staff.
- Accesses / Utilizes (EMHR) in locations that are work appropriate per administration.
