Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Job Duties:
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
- Conduct specified laboratory tests.
- Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure proper nursing care.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition
Education/Licensures/Certifications:
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Current license as RN in the State of Texas
- CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- ACLS within 6-months of hire required
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- 1 year RN acute care/hospital experience preferred
- Previous medical-surgical staff nursing experience desired
- Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process
- Able to manage 2 to 3 critical care patients on and off a ventilator; flex up and down depending on acuity
- Critical thinking skills
- Organized, able to prioritize
- Self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills
- Computer skills necessary; EMR Epic documentation
- Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
- Clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Compassionate customer service skills
