Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to manage several National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded health education projects enrolling participants, residing in NH and VT. The studies are mainly conducted online.
The Research Coordinator/Data Manager will oversee and manage all data aspects of the study.
Working closely with other team members, the Research Coordinator/Data Manager will ensure that projects’ research recruitment and completion goals are met.
Working with team members, will complete quarterly data reporting of the studies to NCI.
Depending on time needed for data work, the successful candidate will also conduct coordination tasks relating to projects that address disparities in cancer burden in the cancer center’s catchment area, e.g. radon testing, lung cancer screening, clinical trials recruitment, etc.

We seek a candidate with excellent data management skills (including data collection, wrangling and reporting as well as creating and documenting data-related procedures), organizational skills, computer proficiency, excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. The ability to delve into data at both micro and macro scales to determine quality and interpret and present results is key.

Three years of work experience in managing health data projects in public health, healthcare administration, human services, or other relevant fields; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Developing and managing data projects including data design, wrangling and reporting
- Using survey management software such as REDCap or Qualtrics, or have skills to enable candidate to quickly learn to use such software
- Using clinical trials management systems e.g. OnCore
- Using Excel and proficiency with pivot tables, complex charts, and advanced formulas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to respond/act appropriately to pressures and deadlines.
- Effective planner with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Ability to interact with others with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to appropriately handle sensitive information or documentation.
- Valid driver’s license required and the ability to pass Dartmouth’s driving course.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree and five years of work experience in public health, healthcare administration, human services, or other relevant fields; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sound knowledge and use of survey management and data software packages such REDCap, Qualtrics, proficiency and ease with Excel.
- Three to five years of experience with data management projects.
- Knowledge and experience in research preferred.
