Statement of Duties: Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Principal of the Middle School, Curriculum Supervisor of Math, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees, and policies of the Saugus School Committee.Qualifications: Licensed by the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Massachusetts in Math (5-9 preferred)Candidates for position in the middle school must present evidence of training in the following areas: 1.Curriculum and methods for middle level education in Math.2.Psychology including adolescent psychologist.3.Middle School practices.4.Proficiency as evidenced through transcripts of undergraduate and/or graduate work in the fields, which candidates apply. Preference will be given to candidates who furnish evidence of academic accomplishment and strength in the content areas.5.Evidence of successful integrated teaching in a team.6.Successful experience teaching in the middle grades.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
