Scuba Diver

Full Time
Naples, FL

Job description

This position is for an individual with scuba certification and an interest in working under water. Applicant must be comfortable in low visibility conditions under vessels in tropical marina settings. The primary type of work is hull cleanings. We also conduct underwater marine repairs and salvage operations. Diving equipment is provided by the company, except for personal gear, such as wetsuit, hood, boots, fins, and weight belt. We are based out of southern Fort Myers, and cover all of SWFL from Sanibel and Cape Coral to Naples and Marco Island.

We are looking for someone with an outgoing positive safety conscious attitude who is ready to learn. Prior experience and knowledge of vessel maintenance and hull cleanings is not required, but the job includes working with team members and the public while servicing vessels, so being able to interact and communicate well is very important.

Hull cleanings and underwater maintenance is a rigorous line of work. Once trained, we generally structure diving with four and a half day work weeks. Building confidence and understanding of underwater maintenance and hull cleanings can take several weeks. While an individual is becoming acclimated to the workplace, we may also have them work as a staffing/field support driver in company vehicles. This allows them to build an understanding of company protocols while learning about equipment, inventory, and the service area.

The upper pay scale for this job listing reflects an individual that is efficiently working a full week performing hull cleanings and in water maintenance. Once someone is comfortable in the workplace with an understanding of the skills required to perform hull cleanings and general maintenance, they are given more days in the water. The typical timeframe to be brought up to a full diving schedule of four and a half days is roughly 2-6 weeks, possibly more, depending on the individual’s ability to acquire the necessary skills.

Potential applicants are encouraged to call 239-316-8922 to learn more about this position.
