ICF’s Digital Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology practice, seeking a motivated Senior Appian Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the Appian platform and well versed in developing solutions powered by Appian. The role is a significant position that involves working with customers and fellow technologists by developing and implementing solutions in a complex, highly dynamic environment.
You are a team player and can embrace ambiguity to translate client requirements using an agile software development methodology to develop Appian platform solutions. What you will be doing:
  • Work with government stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement complex Appian solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain Appian applications, workflows and integrations.
  • Provide LOE for development efforts from information provided by government stakeholders
  • Develop quality Appian applications
  • Analyze and maintain existing software applications
  • Design highly scalable, testable code
  • Discover and fix programming bugs
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Serve as a mentor and Appian technical expert for colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client mission, organization, and technology landscape to better understand how ICF can most effectively identify and address enterprise needs
What you must have:
  • US Citizenship or Green Card. Employment must be compliant with eligibility for Public Trust due to Government Contract requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies
  • 5+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer in designing, configuring, and debugging forms, reports, business logic, interface components and systems integrations
  • 3+ year of experience with relational databases, DML and DDL SQL scripting
  • Quick learner and excellent team player having the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong technical background, excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Coaching mentality, highly collaborative and a growth mindset
  • Ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiation and problem solving.
What we'd like you to have
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
  • Active Appian Certification
  • Java developer experience is a strong plus
  • Experience working with Appian Sites
  • 5+ years of recent work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile Framework
  • Experience defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations leveraging different architectural views
  • Fluent with common industry platforms and programming languages – Appian, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net is preferred
  • Experience configuring stored procedures
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$100,034.00 - $170,058.00
