Reporting to the Customer Data Insights Manager, the core function of the Senior Data Analyst is to support our deep understanding of the Bank¿s different customer segments and help us build customer experience, advocacy and Trust. You will live our Purpose and values every day, building a trusting relationship with all internal and external stakeholders. A key component of your role will be to support the strategic direction of the bank in relation to deepening the understanding of our Customers as well as support the customer and marketing strategies. You will be required to take a lead role in the delivery of insights from our customer data aligned with PTSB¿s Strategic direction and build an understanding of the customer journeys and value streams across the lifecycle to identify the drivers for improvement opportunities and to deliver excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the customer and the key metrics for measuring customer value and experience to support the implementation of the Customer Experience strategy
- Work with stakeholders to define business problems and frame analytical questions that ensure our approach is optimised and actionable
- Work closely with colleagues to understand the business and translate data into insights, creating new value from data.
- Provide customer profiling, marketing and segmentation analysis
- Provide comprehensive and insightful analysis of commercial behaviours drawing out actionable insights that can be applied to deliver enhanced Customer Experience
- Interpret complex information and present in a clear and concise way to non-analytical audiences
- Provide ad hoc analysis as required to support key commercial decisions, proposition planning and business case development
- Combine and manage multiple complex data sources in order to generate data and metrics to support data analysis
- Design and build Reporting Solutions using SAS Visual Analytics, PowerBI and Teradata EDW
- Provide technical leadership in BI and reporting delivery - including SQL, visualization design, and visualisation tools.
- Gather user requirements, determine key metrics required, design and own overall end to end solution from data to visualisation
- Work closely with the Technology Group and Central Data Office to ensure that the wider Data infrastructure is aligned with and integrated as required with key systems (SAS, Teradata etc.)
- Coach stakeholders of the team to support the development of a wider and deeper analytical ability and understanding within the organisation
- Work closely with the wider members of the team to build a dynamic and commercially focused data, analytics and reporting function
- Help to create and maintain an organisational knowledge bank that will facilitate future strategy & planning
- Manage the Junior Data Analyst(s) to maintain support of BAU tasks and monthly reporting
Requirements:
- Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Applications or relevant qualification
- Previous experience in large customer volume data rich, multiproduct industries is preferable ¿ 3+ years of experience working as in a data analytics role in a high transaction volume business (financial services, telecoms, utilities etc.)
- Sharp business acumen, ability to understand and interpret business problems, shape them into analytical questions and to distil output to inform stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to extract relevant Insights from multiple, complex data sources
- Knowledge of BI Tools such as PowerBi, Tableau and SAS etc.
- Knowledge of SAS, Python, R or similar Analytical software
- Proficiency in SQL scripting essential
- Proven ability working with minimum guidance, lead delivery, prioritise workloads and show determination and flexibility to deliver to very strict timelines
- Excellent documentation, report writing & presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and logical thinker ¿ able to take large complex sets of activities and plan into a logical set of digestible chunks
