Senior EHS Officer

Permanent – Full-time

Rosemount Business Park, Tipperary – onsite daily

As Senior EHS Officer you will be the expert responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental safety laws on site and produce detailed reports on the work environment by evaluating the daily business operations for potential hazards, you will create policy changes to better protect employees and the environment.

  • Manage all aspects of health and safety on site and ensure the health and safety management system and health and safety processes on site are suitable for the business requirements and are continuously reviewed to align with the business needs.
  • Develop and lead plan to achieve ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Implement the company’s health, safety, quality and environmental policy and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, advice, guidance and support in all health and safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees across all departments as required.
  • Deliver Health and safety induction programmes for new employees or subcontractors working on site and provide relevant statutory Health and safety training programmes for all employees.
  • Manage the health and safety training matrix and ensure all necessary Health and Safety training is delivered to all staff as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to Senior Management and ensure a corrective action plan is put in place.
  • Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, and investigated and that suitable notification is given to the Management, Health and Safety Authority and Insurers as required.
  • Manage the suitable communication of Health and Safety metrics and progress on periodic basis through tier processes, monthly score cards etc.
  • Drive world class health and safety culture initiatives throughout all departments.
  • Manage and execute health and safety projects and budgets to an excellent standard and within agreed timelines and costs.
  • Promote the company mission of being a healthy and incident and injury free workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by your manager.

Qualifications
  • Interested Candidates will hold

    • Degree in Health and Safety or similar alternative.
    • 5-7 years’ experience in a relevant EHS role.
    • Hold a full, clean driving licence.
    • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction from senior management.
    • Performance driven with a proven track record of achievement, high integrity, and capability to exercise sound judgement in decision-making.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Ability to work well as part of a team.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
    • Experience of production operations and quality assurance requirements in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IMB / FDA regulated environment are desirable
