Job Description Summary
Senior Financial Accountant
Reporting to the Finance Director responsible for various reporting systems, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in line with plant, business and corporate policies.
Job Description
- Working as a member of the Finance Team supporting and partnering the Business. and maintaining General Ledger processing and validation, through transaction review and reconciliation.
- Supporting the monthly accounting closing and reporting process, monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Liaise with the SSC to ensure ERP data uploads to BPC/FSM is completed accurately and within the deadlines set by the Consolidation team.
- Timing posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Manage the external audit for the local entities and to complete the statutory filing accounts liaising with external auditors and tax advisors ensuring timely completion.
- Manage the completion of IDA or Other government grants on a timely basis. Including audit management and liaison with the IDA.
- Manage the calculation of the R&D tax credits, liaising with all stakeholders across the Business. Work with the local tax providers, to complete the annual Corporation Tax Return.
- Manage the banking arrangements for the locally held bank accounts, manage the netting and cash forecasts and support group treasury as requested.
- Manage the credit card program for associates in Ireland.
- Manage the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and reporting program and the annual review process.
- Part of team to assist in quarterly forecasting and annual budget preparation.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, the revenue commissioners, CRO and other external persons or bodies to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Work with the shared services center, internal auditors and other internal persons and departments on any matters which arise in the course of business
- Support the Finance Team with special and ad hoc tasks and projects, and to mentor other associates
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time
Relevant Experience:
- Third Level Qualification
- Formal Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CPA)
- Ability to be a productive team member and work within teams outside of own financial area.
- Broad accounting experience
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Good PC skills
