Description of Duties:

The Senior IT Project Manager supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:


  • Provide project/system engineering support activities for Operations & Maintenance efforts for Engineering Web Services and Ground Test/Flight Test.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment and have the ability to adapt to change and drive change.
  • Demonstrate insightful leadership and analysis in several areas across an extremely diverse organization and mission.
  • Make independent judgments required for the planning, prioritizing and organizing of a diversified workload and workforce.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and at the executive level.
  • Address complex challenges and drive solutions that require extensive organizational integration.
  • Provide clear and effective management and/or support to project teams.
  • Review, analyze, develop and improve the effectiveness of existing processes in relation to task order delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Influence, advise, challenge and support the client in their project delivery to time, cost and quality.
  • Provide guidance, delivering plans, and producing documentation and artifacts.
  • Lead and manage cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams, providing direction across the functions to ensure delivery of client projects.
  • Provide surge support for STaRS organization teams as time/schedule permits.

This position will be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO


This position is expected to pay $137,900 - $147,900 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:


Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience


  • Must have 8 years of directly related experience in project planning & management, risk management, strategic planning & execution, and/or contract performance management/assessments.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in management or leadership roles.
  • Must have, at a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, etc.) or higher.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:


  • Have a working knowledge and experience in missile defense or other complex weapon systems.
  • Have an understanding of various development life cycles such as the Systems Engineering life cycle, ITIL, etc.
  • Have Project Management experience with Remedy systems.
  • Have experience working in an Agile environment and/or Certified SCRUM Master certification.
  • Have a Project Management certification.
