- Production Leadership
- Align division of labor within the operational team to execute production needs in the most time and cost-effective manner while prioritizing safe operations and quality output.
- Ensure staged materials are in proper status and consumed according to FIFO or Quality Unit approved production plan.
- Frequently verify raw, intermediate materials and finished goods counts in the ERP system and notify Operations Manager of discrepancies.
- Identifies and drives implementation of improved practices, needs for ancillary tools, automated equipment, and instruments to further reduce cleaning, setup, changeover and operation cycle time.
- Monitor and standardize production rates, yields, and reported labor hours for new processes and report shift results to Operations Manager.
- Works under the direction of Technical Services to support major qualification and validation activities.
- Team Safety Lead
- Ensures training documents for team members are completed and submitted to Safety Trainer or Operations Manager on-time.
- Conducts routine area, equipment and instrumentation pre-production checks for safety and compliance.
- Ensures that engineered equipment guards remain in-place and interlocks are functioning properly and are not being removed or circumvented.
- Contributes to incident reporting and hazard communication programs:
- Provides immediate notification and ensures actions are taken to protect personnel, mitigate any remaining hazards and avoid damages or loss.
- Works with Area Manager to drive corrective action plans to completion by the assigned due date.
- Represents area as subject matter expert during any subsequent incident review meetings.
- Verifies adequate stock of hazard control equipment, including PPE, FFR, fall protection, lockout locks, tags and devices, containment skids, spill kits, etc. and reports needed items to Operations Manager for reorder.
- Shows team members how to access SDS files and ensures that new chemicals and product hazard awareness has been communicated to team members before commencing work.
- Institutes verbal warnings and written disciplinary action plans for non-compliant team members.
- Area Cleanliness
- Ensures that manufacturing and warehousing area cleaning is being performed, logged correctly and at the required frequency (as a minimum).
- Ensures areas are well organized, specific tools have been localized to each operation and remain in good working condition, surfaces are painted/encapsulated, equipment identification and dedication is visible (if applicable), health hazard placards have been correctly applied, pipes are labeled or painted to the approved color index, safety signage is visible and posted in the correct locations.
- Ensures building and equipment maintenance needs are being reported in a timely manner.
- Training Lead
- Facilitates on-the-job training (OJT) program and ensures new personnel are trained before participating in drug or chemical manufacturing and packaging operations.
- Trains team to properly receive, issue, allocate materials and report shipments in the ERP system.
- Ensures team members retain proof of current licensing and certifications for DOT and heavy equipment use, as applicable to job function.
- Ensures GMP routine training criteria for team members are completed on-time and archived with QE.
- Review ERP, BPR, SOPs for accuracy and submit relevant change control requests to ensure procedures are current.
- Be knowledgeable of current CFR, state, local and industry specific enforcement agency requirements that are applicable to the division.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Ability to work Holidays and OT as required.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
