Sweetgreen's automation team is building cutting edge automation equipment to install into new and existing restaurants. We are seeking a manufacturing focused program manager to help us scale our technology rapidly and help build out our manufacturing function. You will be working closely with our contract manufacturer and our mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure the delivery of our equipment on time and at the highest levels of quality. You'll be responsible for managing timelines, supply chain, and critical documentation.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Sweetgreen's technical leadership to define detailed plans and timelines oriented with business goals for manufacturing restaurant automation equipment.
  • Work closely with Sweetgreen's contract manufacturing partner to execute against Sweetgreen's manufacturing plans.
  • Maintain critical documentation and specifications around all aspects of the build including assembly, QC and procurement
  • Keep our project management tools updated with the latest information, milestones and timelines
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply chain challenges, including line-by-line BOM management and accountability
  • Establish processes across engineering and manufacturing to ensure proper knowledge transfer and accurate and complete documentation
  • Become intimately familiar with our equipment and electrical control panels and manage design changes, change orders and version control
  • Assist with the development of project plans and budget including capital equipment, cost management strategies, and resource allocation
  • Identify the most impactful opportunities and initiatives to reduce cost, improve efficiency and quality
  • Assist with urgent on-the-floor problem solving, working closely with our engineering team and our CM

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience working in the industrial automation space in an engineering or program management role
  • At least 2 years of experience as a program manager working for or closely with a contract manufacturer in the industrial automation space
  • Meticulous documentation skills and attention to detail in all your work
  • Experience managing a full BOM and negotiating with suppliers
  • Very comfortable and familiar with large automation component vendors such as Festo, Keyence, Banner, B&R etc.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of part-level mechanical drawings and assembly drawings, and be capable of creating and improving documentation such as assembly work instructions.
  • Comfortable reading electrical control panel schematics and have a general understanding of control panel architecture
  • Highly adept at using PM tools such as ClickUp or Jira and highly skilled at spreadsheet and BOM management
  • Personable and possess excellent relationship management skills
  • An excellent communicator and capable of working with uncertainty and tight deadlines
  • Confident working at the NPI stage and capable of building processes and structure where needed

This is an in-person role out of our office in Charlestown, MA with up to 25% travel to our CM's facilities.

Salary range for this role:

Starting salary range based on experience

$120,000—$140,000 USD
