The Role

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our growing DSI team! As the Senior Network Engineer, you will own the Palo Alto Design, implementation and troubleshooting functions and be a dynamic contributor to the newly growing Palo Alto team for one of the most successful, technology solutions providers in the nation. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
• Monitor network performance and integrity
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (Example: access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Communicate with users when needed
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
• All other duties as assigned*

What You Need for this Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• At least 5 years of networking experience in an enterprise networking environment
• Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Advanced working knowledge of Palo Alto and checkpoint.
• Considerable experience implementing WAN solutions such as MPLS, SD-WAN, etc.
• Working experience with protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel, Static routing
• Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools like PRTG and SolarWinds
• Hands-on experience with cloud solutions such as Azure and AWS a plus.
• Excellent leadership and time management skill
• Ability to travel within the state of VA or out of state which can be up to 70% of the time
