Role Summary

Design, develop and automate the required performance, stress, load, reliability/longevity. Test architecture and test suites/environments to test the features and functionalities of our products by understanding the underlying architecture to uncover potential bottlenecks in performance, and find defects, risks, and issues following the highest Quality Engineering test methodologies and standards. Work closely with development, product management and other cross-functional teams and participate in requirements reviews, design, and code reviews, all the way until the product is released. Assist in developing the future direction of our product and its deployment activities. Develop and implement performance test cases that give insight into customer deployment scenarios and run performance tests as early in the release cycle as it is realistically possible to identify and flush out potential defects in the product well in advance (shift left testing). Continually assess and evaluate existing performance test cases/suites with the objective of identifying and eliminating potential gaps in test coverage. Develop tools and infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of performance testing and test methodologies. Become inventive in testing approaches by building tools and automation scripts. Run performance and analysis testing against competitive products. Present and help in analyzing the performance test results, debug and help in root causing the defects found, and help in baselining and benchmarking the results. The position is in a fixed location based in the Cranberry Township, PA office.

Job Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology, Electrical Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in testing Firewalls and other Network Security appliances.
• Must have experience with the following:
• Working knowledge of a wide range of firewall products from companies such as Forti.net, SonicWall, PaloAlto, Checkpoint and Sophos;
• Solid understanding of network security applications, including (but not limited to) firewalls, IPS, IDS (e.g. Snort), routing, switching, IPsec and SSL;
• Using commercial performance test tools such as Spirent Avalanche, Keysight/l :xia Breaking Point, JMeter, HP load- runner etc.;
• Experience in application level protocols: TCP, UDP, SNMP, HITPy FTP, DNS, SSL,
• Performing and supporting third party performance benchmarking labs testing such as NSS labs and NetSecOpen;
• Proficiency with TCL, Python, Perl and/or Linux Bash shell scripting;
• Proficiency in Linux and open-source tools such as iPerf, tcpdump and wireshark;
• Deep understanding of the quality process, testing strategies, and Agile test methodologies;
• Knowledge of revision control systems (GitHub or Merrurial desired).
