7-Eleven is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a multidisciplinary team of engineers who create digital products that millions of 7-Eleven customers experience every day. We are seeking seasoned an experienced SRE to deliver insights from massive-scale data in real time. Additionally, we are searching for someone who enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences for every interaction.
Responsibilities
- Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health. This could include anything from adjustments to monitoring and alerting to the development of tools needed to monitor the environment.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through monitoring and release procedures.
- Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of our customer’s needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
- Participate and/or lead incident calls to help resolve production level issues.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Documentation of knowledge and processes, such as runbooks.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to document findings and then take actions on their learnings.
- Excel in individual contribution under minimal supervision.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support a 24/7 production environment.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related discipline
- Must have 3 to 5+ years of SRE or DevOps experience.
- Ability to program using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C#, Node and JavaScript
- Must have experience in cloud services (AWS is preferred).
- Experience using Git and GitHub.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of container-based systems and platforms (Docker).
- Knowledge of databases, RDS and NoSQL is a bonus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
