Overview:

This role is responsible for the planning and execution of all the international Ocean Freight activities. Working within the shipping team ensuring regulatory compliance for shipments, all essential shipping licences / documentation, and review of internal processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations of the team. This is a very fast paced challenging role and will reward those who thrive working under pressure in this environment.

Position Requirements:

• Responsible for the creation of the appropriate shipping documentation for all shipments such as Goods dispatch invoice for various couriers
• Develop a close working relation with customer on site representatives and be aware of each customer's specific requirements on how they require their material shipped.
• Liaise closely with production staff with regards to issues that may arise with tagging, quantity, condition, location of components
• Responsible for the booking of freight forwarder services to ensure accurate delivery times for our shipments as well as the most economic routings for our customers.
• Will be required to work towards achieving key measurements (KPI's) regarding the performance of the shipping department.
• Overseeing and handling shipment operations and customer requirements for global export of product and material.
• Meeting compliance at all times to regulations which includes internal policies and procedures and external government regulatory requirements.
• Point of contact for export shipping compliance functions and regulatory bodies in conjunction with other functional points of contact across the organisation.
• Plan and coordinate shipments in line with production and on time delivery requirements.
• Ensure all shipping information is provided to appropriate internal and external parties
• Liaise with freight forwarders to organise shipments and support gathering of essential information to assist with shipping arrangements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Non-EU/EAA nationals require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Shipping / Logistics type role ideally within the Ocean industry is required
• Strong IT Skills with experience working with modern ERP Systems
• Have a high level of commercial awareness.
• Demonstrates and is passionate about delivering solutions for our customers.
• Have a strong work ethic, be reliable, focussed, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and be very customer service oriented.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
• May be required to train & work in other areas of the dept to meet operational needs.

Education And Experience:

• Relevant experience in a similar role within a Supply Chain environment.
• Hands on experience of Importing/exporting internationally, understanding of customs regulations and export controls.
• International trade qualification, Import / export qualification or training is desirable.
