Social Care Leader (SCL) Abhainn -ASD Finglas/ Ballymun

St. Michael's House is a community based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublinarea. St. Michael’s House is committed to providing individualised supports to people so that they can enjoy experiences, opportunities and lifestyles similar to their peers.

St. Michael's House is presently recruiting for a full- time, permanent SCL post, initially based in duel locations in Finglas and Ballymun and working with a complex but very rewarding group of young adults. Experience of working with people presenting with ASD is strongly desired. Experience of managing Positive Behavioural Support systems and the implementation of communication aids and technologies is also desired.

The successful candidate will be required to work a 37 hour week Monday – Friday. The hours are 09:00 – 16:00 but flexibility around service user supports will be required.

Essential Criteria for SCL applicants:

  • QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College;
  • Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland;
  • Have at least 3 years management experience in the area of intellectual disabilities
  • Have at least 6 months in the area of staff support, taking the lead in teams, resource management, and administration duties
  • Be knowledgeable of Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HSE, (2015) Interim Standards for New Directions.
  • Have experience in the area of intellectual disability, complex health needs, positive behaviour support, advocacy and social inclusion
  • A working knowledge of Safeguarding Policy
  • Possess a strong commitment to the provision of a quality individualised person centred service
  • Be committed to working as part of a team
  • Possess experience in key-working and have a knowledge of the quality system

  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated HSE SCL Scale based on a 37 hour working week
