We are currently seeking a Senior Software Developer who will be responsible for development, testing and support of custom applications built by the firm. This includes capturing, estimating, and prioritizing requests for enhancements to these applications
Designs new software programs, websites and applications to support online employee benefits enrollment and administration.- Responsible for designing, coding and modifying existing websites, such as layout, functionality and user experience.
- Implements software solutions, prioritizing client/firm needs and collaborating with a broad range of customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.
- Provides quality service to customers by developing applications, modules and reports that meet customer and business requirements, following Baker Tilly’s technological standards and documenting all work done and procedures followed.
- Works to improve the quality, performance and functionality of applications and reports.
- Acts as a business liaison to evaluate business and customer needs; analyzing departments, applications, development, and operations involving application development; and providing detailed estimates.
- Pays close attention to detail and takes accountability for work quality.
- Meet with clients and management to discuss the design plan and needs for the website/application.
- Collaborates with clients and team members to brainstorm and create new products and enhancements.
- Adapts to business needs and is able to work on multiple projects at any given time, and apply appropriate priorities to tasks and projects.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending technical education, attending workshops, reading publications and pursuing technical certifications. Shares knowledge obtained with other members of the team.
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in software development
- Product development experience preferred but not required
- Familiar with at least one modern programming language such as C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, NodeJS, Angular, Go, etc.
- Knowledge of commonly-used markup languages such as HTML, CSS and XML
- Knowledge of commonly-used software development concepts, practices, and procedures and strong understanding of the software development life cycle
- Basic knowledge of file based relational databases and SQL
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
