Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager
fundamental Catering is looking to add an amazing Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager to our growing catering & events team.
The Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager will work as a mid-level manager, directly assisting the Executive Chef and kitchen team in all operational needs as follows: food production, team management, off-site event execution, and administrative tasks. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate, flexible, and trainable team player to join our team and help with the day-to-day operations.
Job Tasks include but are not limited to:
-Assist the Executive Chef with daily administrative work (i.e. prep lists, ordering, etc)
-Assist and support the Executive Chef and kitchen management team in food production, team oversight, off-site event execution.
-Assist and support the Culinary team with tastings, new menu item collaboration and menu development
-MAJOR support for the Executive Chef and culinary team on training, implementing processes and SOPs, and driving exceptional food quality and high standards.
Requirements:
-A minimum of 2+ years experience in the food / beverage / hospitality / catering industry as a Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef with proven ability in strong leadership and building a positive team environment.
-Highly skilled in plating and food presentation, supreme attention to product quality and food design aesthetic.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Comfortable using communication apps and platforms such as SLACK
-Highly organized with great attention to detail.
-Strong computer skills and efficient in email, google docs and google sheets (must own a personal laptop)
-Knowledge of drop off catering and off-site event catering is a major plus!
-Professional appearance and demeanor.
-Access to reliable car or transportation
-Ability to drive Company Vans and Trucks is a must!

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
