As a Special Education Teacher, you will establish and maintain a therapeutic/pro-social learning environment while monitoring, reviewing and revising individual education plans (IEP) as needed. To help achieve our mission, you will complete progress documentation such as report cards, assessments and IEP progress reports for parents and the local education agency. Participating in staff/committee meetings as assigned in addition to planning and implementing developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans and therapeutic teaching strategies consistent with IEP goals, objectives, transition plans and the Virginia Standards of Learning is of vital importance. Your ability to provide assessments, planning, treatments, interventions and evaluations to patients with addictions is essential. Effectively engaging students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs is required,

Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree

Experience: One year of experience working with youth or adolescents. One year of professional experience in a school setting

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from American Heart Association (Upon Start)
