Speech Language Pathologist/Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities

Must be able to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position as outlined in the classroom standards manual.

• Deliver services as mandated by Individualized Education Plans
• Create and maintain all required documentation
• Participate as part of the educational/clinical team for each student
• Applies best, evidence based, practice methods
• Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with families
• Track data and make data-based decisions
• Assess student progress on a regular basis
• Manage behavioral challenges

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders and/or Sciences or Speech Language Pathology

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: NYS Licensed Speech Language Pathologist; NYS Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or NYS Certified Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)

Job description SLP Fee For Service

Fee for service school-based Speech Language Pathologists to work with school-age students at Summit Academy.

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the treatment and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for students with communication disorders in our educational setting.

Education Required:

Master’s degree from University/College of accredited speech language pathology program

Required License/Registration/ Certification:

• New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (“TSSLD”) Initial, Profession or Permanent certificate

Schedule

• Three half days – Five full days a week
• Service hours 9-2:30

Fee for Service Rate

• $40 per session
