Sr Accountant

Our site in Chanhassen MN is looking for a Sr Accountant to join their finance team! The as the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide variety of recurring accounting functions including but not limited to: financial statement preparation, general ledger journal entries, expense reporting, account reconciliations, financial analysis, purchasing and inventory support, and more. This position will be a key contributor on the Business Unit accounting team and the ongoing success of the business.

Location: Chanhassen, MN (ability to work from home 1 day per week)

Your Challenge:

  • Makes daily decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions and recommends solutions to complex accounting problems.
  • Maintains appropriate project accounting controls to ensure compliance for revenue recognition and invoicing.
  • Reviews, coordinates, and provides documentation to support various internal and external audit requirements.
  • May perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Develops or modifies major segments of an accounting system including associated accounts, records, reports, and controls.
  • Preparing financial statements, e.g., monthly financial reports,
  • Weekly forecasts to Management Team summarizing current and projected financial position.
  • Ensure all financial deadlines and ad hoc reporting are met.
  • Assist with capital acquisition processes.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls are reviewed, updated, and followed.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Communicate with multiple sister business units and Curtiss Wright corporate accounting to ensure multiple intercompany balances are tied out monthly.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience in a Senior level role.
  • Must have experience in Manufacturing Accounting Environment.
  • CPA/CMA preferred.
  • Intercompany transaction experience highly preferred.
  • Exceptional organization skills are required with emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including confidentiality and ethical standards.
