Sr CAD Designer
Our Shelby NC site is looking for a Sr Designer to join their team! As the Sr CAD Designer, you will prepare working plans, detailed drawings and complete mechanical or electrical drawings of complex components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes, frequently using Siemens NX. You will make engineering computations, write specifications and makes adjustments in drawings or specifications.

Your Challenge:

Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.

Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.

Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.

Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.

Verifies completed work, checking dimensions, material and quantities to be used.

May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.

Your Expertise:

5+ years' design experience; avionics or aerospace industry highly desired.

Proficiency utilizing 3D CAD tools to create mechanical models and assemblies; Siemens NX experience preferred.

Knowledge of engineering materials, fabrication processes, design for manufacturing and assembly principles.

Knowledge of tolerance analysis and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles

Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent education in engineering design and technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
