We are currently hiring a Sr. Data Architect with experience in the transportation industry for a long-term contract in Austin, TX. This position will be on a hybrid work schedule with up to 2 days onsite at the client site in Austin, TX. The Sr. Data Architect will work as part of the core enterprise data management team to build the vision, direction, and data strategies that will leverage appropriate technologies and integration with other client data platforms and other transactional systems. The Sr. data architect will help build data warehouse strategy and components based on business requirements and in-depth analysis of intelligent roadway data, including intelligent traffic technology, and connected and automated vehicle data. If selected, your duties and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to the following:

• Working with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, data warehouses, and data marts.
• Providing guidelines on creating data models and various standards relating to governed data
• Assisting in performing root cause analyses related to information issues and non-conformance to published data standards based on review of technical metadata of various source systems
• Leading the effort in managing intelligent roadway data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data, master data, and transactional data
• Working with enterprise architecture team and services team to incorporate modernizing data governance, data quality, and metadata management into architectural approach and patterns
• Coordinating and collaborating with multiple divisions, departments, stakeholders, and partner solutions.
• Working closely with transportation teams to understand their data needs and design data models and systems that can support those needs. This may involve working with a variety of data sources, such as traffic sensors, GPS data, weather data, and other relevant sources
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports transportation systems. This includes collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing data related to traffic patterns, travel times, vehicle counts, and other information that can help transportation intelligence

Mandatory Requirements:

• 8 yrs. of comprehensive experience developing and maintaining a comprehensive data architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives
• 8 yrs. of comprehensive experience in evaluating and selecting data management tools, technologies, and platforms that are appropriate for the organization's needs
• 8 yrs. of experience in defining data models, data dictionaries, and other data management artifacts that are necessary for effective data management and analysis
• 8 yrs. of experience in collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements and recommend data solutions that meet business needs
• 6 yrs. of experience in providing guidance and support to data management and analysis teams to ensure that data solutions are designed and implemented effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 yrs. of experience in working with Traffic and transportation system data

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
