Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector, Airborne Surveillance Business Unit is seeking a Principal Contract Administrator/Sr. Contract Administrator to join our E-2D Transmitter Power Group team. This open position is located in Linthicum, MD. The job assignment is for production and spares programs with a variety of customers including Lockheed Martin, USN, NG IWO (Intercompany Work Order) customers. This position is expected to be hybrid (to work both in-office and remotely) in accordance with emerging business needs. Travel for customer meetings 10% of the time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.

  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS as well as experience with different contract types.

  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Interface effectively with customer counterparts via email, telephone, and in-person, when appropriate.

  • Work successfully with other functional groups during all phases of the contract lifecycle.

  • Compiles and analyzes data.

  • Maintains historical information including contractual documentation/correspondence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Contract Administrator (A03): Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years directly related experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years directly related experience.

  • Sr. Principal Contract Administrator (A04): Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years directly related experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years directly related experience.

  • Microsoft Office to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.

  • Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to start, oversee, and follow-through with major assignments and responsibilities

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD (Department of Defense) Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current active security clearance



Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
