About the Role
This position is responsible for providing experienced leadership and technical direction to cluster HMI team; Accountable for platform features, from prioritization to design to release. This role owns the full software development lifecycle - problem definition, design, development
What You Will Do

Experience in analysis of requirements and translating them into high-level/detailed design / derive classes using UML tools like Enterprise Architect or similar tools.

Identify architectural constraints for the architectural level (project, domain, application) based on technical and organizational requirements and decompose them to architectural levels below

Develop software architecture for the assigned architectural level fulfilling the architectural requirements

Document and communicate architectural decisions based on at least more than one design alternative both within the HMI domain as well as across the dependent domains (E.g Media, Projection, Audio, etc..)

Get approval for architectural changes from an architect at a higher level

Lead cluster HMI development across multiple geographic (E.g India, China Germany, etc). Define, develop, and verify all interfaces to related SW architectural elements are complete

Work with the Product Manager to define cluster HMI roadmap. Negotiate work scope and priorities.

Work with HARMAN Internal tools (E.g ALM, Elvis) for both feature development and bug fixing

Ability to work with Safety critical components such as Telltales, warning manager which require certain safety standards to be followed (E.g ASIL)

Describe, evaluate, and verify dynamic behavior and interaction between the related SW architectural elements

Understand cluster software architecture. Support architectural-level cluster software communication to customers and management.

Analyze a customer requirement and map them to existing architecture or extend the architecture starting from RFQ/RFI phase, and be able to estimate the efforts from the architectural elements as well as from the customer requirements

Analyze and address architectural relevant nonfunctional requirements

Develop prototypes and execute feasibility studies

Review and approve the work products from the team (design, code)

Able to analyze & debug complex problems using debuggers/logs etc.

Market research (FOSS - free and open source alternatives)

Ensure traceability and consistency to system architecture and to software

Escalate if software implementation is not according to the agreed architectural alternative

Request all input that is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities

What You Need
-
Ph.D. degree in Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in corporate or academic research; alternatively, a Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned fields and 8 years of experience in research and development or a Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of experience

6+ years of development experience in Qt framework and applications

Strong knowledge of Linux and QNX

Exceptional reputation as an innovator based on having created forward-looking research, projects, and award-winning publications

Proven technical leadership

Experience working in the technology industry or automotive industry

Knowledge of embedded software, system, and beyond

Expert knowledge and experience in Software Architecture

Analysis of requirements

Modeling tools and languages

Ability to document comprehensively and concisely

Knowledge of configuration management

Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®)
What is Nice to Have

IO controller and CAN bus experience

3D rendering experience

Hands-on experience on Kanzi studio from Rightware

Hands-on experience in Unity studio

Cluster software experience
