Summary:
The Sr. Project Manager/Area Manager role has high impact on the success of PSC Heavy Civil/James Construction Group. The role is key to driving positive P&L results that meet or exceed financial targets.
This position is accountable for making decisions on planning, scheduling, forecasting, analyzing and problem solving associated with activities within divisions. These activities involve significant financial, time sensitive targets as well as safety risks.
Job Duties:
- Provide executives with the status/results of the division’s operations at all stages of the Project review process.
- Collaborate with other Senior Managers, Project Managers and Site Superintendents to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and forecasts for workload, resources, and job cost.
- Collaborate in creating Budgets, cost control, profit and loss mitigation of each project.
- Collaborate with other Senior Managers, Project Managers, Site Superintendents and Sub-Contractors on an on-going basis to review Project status, analyze deviations, and determine changes/adjustments required to the Project (workload schedule and resource requirements) to ensure meeting or exceeding deliverables.
- Assist in the pursuit process (estimating) for future jobs for the division.
- Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to ensure accurate data is processed during the inventory process and meeting all inventory required deliverables with the time parameters required.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships characterized by open, clear communications with project personnel.
- Responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged team of talented professionals providing them with clear direction and valuable feedback that improves their performance.
- Accountable to establish, monitor, and maintain efficient and safe operating procedures for all work undertaken in the completion of projects. Take appropriate and timely action on safety compliance and discipline issues.
- Visibly champions the Company’s Safety in the Workplace programs, with a focus on achieving zero accidents/incidents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum College Diploma or 5-10 years of concrete paving experience.
- PMP designation or certification in progress an asset.
- Proven expertise in scheduling complex activities preferred.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in Budgetary and Financial processes, including knowledge of project controls and forecasting.
- Critical thinking and risk mitigation skills.
- Able to effectively delegate activities and tasks to others.
