Position Description:
The Staff Accountant processes accounts payable, fixed assets and prepaids. Reconciles accounts, reviews wires and provides backup for other team members. Assists with special projects assigned by management.
Specific Duties Include:
- Process Accounts Payable and maintain all vendor information within the Prologue system. At YE assist with the exporting of tax information for 1099 filing.
- Performs several reconciliations as assigned and ensure reconciliating items are resolved in a timley manner.
- Reviews daily core system proofs and corrects any out of balance conditions or communicates with proper personnel indicating corrections that need to be made in a timely manner. Reviews daily for any General Ledger rejected items and corrects the system.
- Maintains the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules on the FAS software for general journal entries; ensure proper recording of new purchases. Coordinates the biennial physical inventory of all branches. Prepares quarterly rollforwards.
- Assist with the daily Federal Reserve activity as follows: Verify wires on a daily basis. Provide back-up for initiating outgoing wires.
- Performs several monthly reconciliations as assigned and ensure reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.
- Completes regulatory financial reporting as assigned: FR2900 weekly, VT Labor and Statistics.
- Document policies, procedures and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provides backup to coworkers for various daily and weekly reconciliations: FRB cash orders, ATM/IMT cash orders, Visa settlements, Official Check Recon and processes Stop Payments as needed.
- Other projects as assigned: Audit prep, release testing and new product initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- A two-year college degree.
