Pioneer Athletic Center is a new State of the Art Facility in East Longmeadow with multiple sports for campers to have a blast in! Over 30,000 square feet of obstacles, outdoor activities, gymnastics equipment. As a Counselor you will be trained on all activities for summer camp!

Job Duties:

As a camp counselor, your job is to oversee and supervise children and facilitate their learning and growth through engaging camp activities. You will act as a role model, exhibiting positive behaviors and decision-making for both the participants and your peers.

• You will need to demonstrate sensitivity to the emotional needs of the campers and be able to effectively address any issues that may arise.
• Attending all related in-services, trainings, and staff meetings leading up to the camp is crucial for success in this role.
• You will need to establish a positive relationship with the families of the campers during drop-off and pick-up, building good rapport and ensuring a smooth transition for both the campers and their parents.

Qualifications:

• At least 16 years of age. At least 18 years of age for Senior Camp Counselor
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, critical problem solving independently.
• Knowledge of and ability to learn appropriate child development techniques.
• Desire to work with children and help them develop physically, mentally, and emotionally.
• Demonstrated track record of timeliness and punctuality.
• Must Attend Staff training sessions leading up to the start of Camp.

Job Type: Full Time Seasonal (~30 hours weekly)
