Overview


The Supervisor provides day-to-day oversight for the Behavioral Health Assessors, Liaisons, Assessment and Resource Center staff and case managers to ensure that all patients who enter WellStar Health System with a Behavioral Health or Substance Abuse concern receive a timely and accurate clinical assessment and are referred to the appropriate level of care.

The individual will play a key role in hiring, mentoring, coaching and development of staff. The supervisor provides on-site clinical and leadership support at assigned hospital site (s). The supervisor develops relationships with leadership, key stakeholders, and team members to ensure the ability to drive and attain both department specific and system wide goals.
Specific responsibilities of the Supervisor include the following:
  • Collaborate with providers, team members, and leadership to ensure individualized and integrated treatment for behavioral health patients
  • Oversee the implementation of identified Key Performance Indicators
  • Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Departments based on daily needs of the system
  • Provide on-site and remote support, coaching and education to identified team members
  • Participate in an On-Call Schedule
  • Participate in service line functions and initiatives, as directed by Behavioral Health leadership

Responsibilities


Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions
  • Clinical Management and Support: *Manages the daily operations of the BH Assessment and Resource Center staff, ED assessors, Liaisons and Case Managers to ensure completion of quality assessments, quality and clinical outcomes, improved patient flow, improved patient satisfaction, and patient safety *Manages the length of stay of behavioral health patients in the emergency room and the medical floor *Assists team members in developing appropriate treatment dispositions based on individualized clinical and medical presentation *Completes assessments, re-assessments, safety plans, and facilitates appropriate referrals during high volume surges, scheduling gaps, and as appropriate based on department needs. *Maintains current with best practices in the care of the behavioral health patients *Provides routine feedback for team members through daily huddles, consistent team meetings and clear written and verbal communication
  • Provide Quality Management *Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and Joint Commission regulations and readiness. *Maintains accurate employee records to ensure timely completion of necessary Licensures and Certifications *Identifies and provides education and counseling as needed to promote growth, development, and delivery of quality clinical services by all team members *Completes daily staffing to ensure maximum utilization of resources to meet the system’s behavioral health needs. *Monitors adherence to best practices pertaining to behavioral health assessment and care coordination across care sites.
  • Performance Measurement *Reviews and responds appropriately to patient, customer, and state complaints in a timely manner *Facilitates and actively manages Great Places to Work and Culture of Safety Survey and Action Plans as appropriate *Provides supervision and ensures positive clinical experiences for Graduate Intern Program participants to contribute to quality development of future clinicians *Provides consistent feedback to ensure quality clinical care and compliance with KPIs

Qualifications


Required Minimum Education
  • Master's Degree in related clinical area- counseling or social work, etc Required

Required Minimum Experience
  • Candidates must have 1-2 years of management experience in a behavioral health setting that provides assessment, referral and treatment of both behavioral health and substance abuse issues Required

Required Minimum Skills
  • Excellent communication and strong customer service skills

  • Lic Clinical Social Worker GA 1.00 Required 1.00

  • Lic Master Social Worker GA 1.00 Required 1.00

  • Lic Professional Counselor 1.00 Required 1.00

  • Prof Counselor 1.00 Required 1.00

  • Basic Life Support 2.00 Required 2.00

Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • LMFT Required or

  • CAC/MAC Required
