What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Technical Project Manager 1/2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The Operational Safety & Compliance Group (ORI-2) is seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Manager (TPM) to assist with project deliverables, budget, and metric reporting. The selected candidate will support ORI-2's mission to reduce operational and programmatic risk at the Institutional and Weapons Production levels, through the application of continuous learning and the implementation of best-in-class safety and nuclear materials management program.
As a TPM reporting to the First Line Manager (FLM) of the Nuclear Materials Management team, you will provide technical project leadership related to the development, planning, and execution of projects within the Team's scope. To manage projects effectively, the selected candidate will develop and maintain in-depth technical expertise for their assigned scope. The team is responsible for managing a large amount of current and historical information, modeling of complex problems involving multiple organizations and sites, and interaction with organizations throughout the laboratory and the DOE/NNSA that are responsible for special nuclear material.
Technical Project Manager 1 ($81,700 - $133,100)
The Technical Project Manager 1 (TPM 1) will be responsible for Developing, executing, and overseeing projects related to the oversight, use, and/or lifecycle management of accountable nuclear materials. Primary responsibilities will include the ability to develop a project plan, monitor efforts to completion, basic knowledge of scheduling and planning of activities, meeting milestones and managing resources.
Technical Project Manager 2 ($99,200 - $164,100)
In addition to what is outlined at the TPM 1 level, the TPM 2 selected candidate responsibilities includes the ability to develop work package scope, deliverables, resources and forecasting methodologies. Manages change requests, baseline change proposals, and reporting metrics between line and program management. Identify potential project risks and develops risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions. The selected individual will be tasked with leading or assisting, in the implementation of initiatives requiring the management of scope, schedule, budget, personnel, and procurements. The TPM 2 will assist with the coordination of external customer meetings, workshops and assessments.

Demonstrated record of successfully supporting or leading cross-organization teams to ensure complex technologies or products are delivered within budget and on schedule.
Education/Experience for Technical Project Manager 1:
Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience for Technical Project Manager 2:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. A Project Management Institute certification is preferred for this level.
Desired Qualifications:
Nuclear Materials Experience:
Experience or familiarity with nuclear materials management or nuclear materials control and accountability (e.g., material storage, control, shipping, or disposition) in accordance with the relevant DOE Orders.
DOE Compliance:
Working knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to the assigned project.
Relational Database Experience:
Direct experience with relational databases, transactional databases and/or SQL Server programming.
Location : This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.

This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.
